Scientists and meteorologists who have been studying weather changes in the northeast have discovered that the weather in the winter months has in fact been getting warmer over the past 40 years.
They researched the weather between December and March from 1965-2005 and discovered that the average temperature increased over that period by nearly 3 degrees. Snowfall totals have fallen by almost 9 inches and the number of days with at least 1 inch of snowfall on the ground has decreased by an average of 9 days.
